Our Nations Capital

The 2015 ACT International Open has been and gone for another year. Two days of the highest quality Judo saw plenty of medals for the Judo Vic team and one of those was our very own.

Charlotte was competing in the Junior Girls division and we are pleased to say brushed all before her aside for a Gold Medal. All three fights were won by Ippon and she showed plenty of technique along the way.

Her first fight ended very abruptly via a perfectly executed Seoi Nage. Up next she tried the same throw and scored a Wazari and then after some strong Ne Waza manoeuvred her opponent into a clean Yoko Shiho Gatame for 15 seconds and the win.

Finally came the Gold Medal match and up against a tough opponent who beat her into silver at this event last year. Against a much more aggressive judoka she held strong and scored a Wazari with a Tai Otoshi. Soon after it was all over with a smart Tani Otoshi for another Wazari and the win.

Her road to the 2015 National championships has begun as well as could be expected.

Congratulations Charlotte.
